Nightingales Trust's Active Ageing program has been impacting the lives of many Senior Citizens since 2014. The program is scientifically conducted and is based on a research study in the UK called ThinkingFit.
Benefits of this Active Ageing program include significant decrease in blood glucose level, stabilized blood pressure, cholesterol, weight and considerable improvement in cognitive skills. Overall, members have reported significant improvement in their quality of life and reduction in various cardiovascular risk factors.
Long term participation in these activities is expected to bring a lifestyle change, enhance the sense of well-being, decrease the risk of dementia and promote a better quality of life.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the lockdowns that ensued, many Senior Citizens have been home bound and this has affected their normal healthy lifestyles. Keeping this in mind, Nightingales Medical Trust has redesigned the Active Ageing program to be offered completely online. Physical and Cognitive sessions are now offered in a range of innovative and interesting activities and elders are allowed to socialize through games and other sessions.
Please Note: The Nightingales Trust Online Active Ageing Program is conducted through the Nightingale Empowerment Foundation
The Nightingales Trust Active Ageing Program was made possible through the generous contributions and personal involvement of Mrs and Mr Subroto Bagchi.
